Detoxification: Do you need to detoxify now?

What is Detoxification? 

Detoxification is one of the more widely used treatments and concepts in alternative medicine. It is based on the principle that illnesses can be caused by the accumulation of toxic substances (toxins) in the body. Eliminating existing toxins and avoiding new toxins are essential parts of the healing process [2]. Detoxification also supports metabolism and delays aging process thus improving the quality of life.

The liver is the principal organ of detoxification. It is assisted by the kidneys; intestines, skin and lungs, and so toxins are excreted from the body through these in the form of urine, stool, sweat and exhaled air. If the organs are clean, each cell in the body can function properly.
